Bio

I was born in North Texas, in a town called McKinney. Stayed local to the area until I moved to Melissa, Texas in the first grade. That was the start of my childhood. I was fortunate to grow up on some land and be a rowdy lil kid. I would spend my summer days getting muddy and driving ATV’s around the land and around Melissa. Having parties at the house, spending time with friends, getting reckless, this was my childhood.

I alway remember singing, can’t think of a time when I wasn’t. There are even videos of me singing Rhinestone Cowboy by Glen Campbell in my boots and diaper when I was 4 years old. I do remember when I started to perform though.

Around 12 years old, I started to take an interest in gospel music and one of my best friends was leading the worship at the church my family attended growing up. His name was Stan, he was a bit older than I was but he saw the desire in me to make music. His mom was an acclaimed Gospel singer and Stan got a lot of his licks through blood. He taught me how to perform and took me under his wing for the next few years. Stan was like an older brother to me, still is. All I wanted to do was be up on stage helping out in the choir. When I was 15 years old I had the opportunity to represent my community and lead other teenagers in worship at a large conference. It felt like home, getting to perform for all my friends and family and create an environment that pulled you away from your day to day and let you just sit back and enjoy yourself for a few minutes. Music can be such a healing thing. After that, I begged my parents to let me take vocal lessons and keep honing this craft. They graciously paid for me to do so for the next few years until I could pay for it on my own. My vocal teacher was incredible, her name was Tracy. We grew very close over the next 6 years as I soaked up all the info I could from her. After a while, it felt like I was ready to move on and continue my journey elsewhere.

When I was listening to music, I wanted to be someone that had music worth listening to. I always wanted to have a commanding and powerful voice that made you stop, listen, think and enjoy. I felt like the best way to do that was to steal the best parts of my favorite artists and make my own style of music. I spent a few years going through all these artists discographies and learning how to sing all of their music in their key with all of the nuances attached to it. Then I would move on to the next one. I like to think I am nothing but what I could steal of the best parts of my favorite people.

The artists I most closely listened to were:

Amy Winehouse - soul and grit

Jason Mraz - wordplay and good feels

Ray Charles - soul, feel and energy

Michael Buble - control and low end

Stevie Wonder - energy and writing

Matt Corby - power and control

Jim Croce - writing and dynamics

Chris Stapleton - power and dynamics

Johnny Cash - timelessness and catchy

I took a long break from performing music from the age of 21 to 28. I was in a luxury sales career that demanded all of my attention. In 2023 I decided that I didn’t want to spend all of my time making the wealthiest people in Dallas even more comfortable, so I quit. I took a year off and tried to find myself again. Started playing music again and falling in love with the process of learning music again. In the middle of all of this I met my wonderful and supportive partner and in February 2025 we decided to move out to Southwest Colorado and slow down our lives. In the spring of 2025 I was hanging out with a couple of great friends (shoutout Sam and Annie) and they encouraged me to start playing music for the community. I ended up playing for free one night at a restaurant that my friend got me into and the rest was history.I started playing weekly at the Smokehouse based in Ouray and then my whole summer was filled up with music.

Break to the Summer of 2026, I was pre-booked out for the entire summer in January and that allowed me to fully focus on  my music and how I want to pursue that next avenue of my life.

I have played at over 20 venues between Telluride, Ridgway, Montrose and Ouray. I absolutely love playing music for the people of the San Juans. They are incredible people and there are some incredible musicians that I have had the honor of playing with. Who knows, you might catch me playing with them some nights.

My passion right now is to bring live music to Ouray and Ridgway for the summer of 2026. There are a lot of other passionate people that have the same mindset, so go out and listen to some live music and appreciate the arts a little bit, and you just might fine some healing in all of that.
